I work with men in the DMV who feel stuck or find themselves in a pattern of avoidance. Many of my clients come in with a sense that something has been “off” for a while. It impacts their work, their relationships, and especially how they talk to themselves in their heads. At the same time, our society told them to suck it up and keep going. As a result, they come into my office overwhelmed and unclear on where to even start to untangle everything. That’s where I come in. Together we will make sense of what’s going on and craft a path forward that feels right for you.
Therapy with me is direct, collaborative, and no bullshit. I aim to get to the root of the problems by understanding how the past is informing the present. We develop skills and the power of choice to make different decisions, all while holding compassion for how they got there. We acknowledge how societal systems have contributed to modern definitions of masculinity and their consequences. We consider all angles of their lived experience: childhood experiences, instincts & gut reactions, and past relationships.
My role as your therapist is to help you understand yourself and support you through the “how” of moving forward. If you’re ready to try this therapy thing, reach out and let’s see if we might be a good fit. I offer phone and video consultations.
