I grew up in Tampa, FL and have been living in DC for over 7 years. After a previous career in tech, I decided to return to school during the pandemic to pursue my passion for counseling. I hold an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and am now a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) at The Pauling Institute, Inc. I provide in-person therapy and enjoy working with men in my practice. In my free time, I love educational reading, traveling abroad, engaging in movement through boxing, and catching a basketball game.

I warmly welcome adult individuals of all identities. I see a diverse population of clients who experience issues like emotional dysregulation, uncertainty in decision making, anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. I am particularly passionate about providing therapy for men who are navigating challenges related to emotionality, identity exploration, definitions of masculinity, and difficulties in relationships.

I provide counseling services to clients in DC, both in person and via telehealth. My secured office is conveniently located downtown next to the Metro Center station. Many of my clients choose a hybrid model, where we meet in person or connect through telehealth based on what works best for their circumstances.
I recognize that no two humans are the same, I tailor my approach to who you are as a person and your unique life experiences. We will collaborate together in person as we explore why you feel the way you do, past experiences that may be contributing to your present, and how you can move forward in therapy.
I use an integrative approach, incorporating the following evidence-based practices:
To understand what you're going through in therapy, we will focus on your early childhood and relationships with your parents; subconscious drives and gut instincts; unmet needs; learned aspects of your behaviors and thoughts; and defense mechanisms, all in person.
To conceptualize how you respond to life's stressors, we may explore who you are as a person and your perceived place in the world. We will dig into different parts of your self and how you find meaning in your life.
I believe that embracing our ability to make choices in our lives can dramatically alleviate our suffering. In our work together, we will evaluate the roles of choice and personal accountability in the issues you're facing.
Emotions inform your thoughts and decision making, and your body often experiences emotions before your brain does. We will investigate how your body indicates and responds to emotions. We will examine your relationship to uncomfortable emotions, like anger or anxiety, and work toward increasing your tolerance of those emotions.

While I do not accept insurance directly, I can provide you a superbill at the end of each month for potential reimbursement using your insurance's out of network benefits.
Finding the right therapist fit is crucial but can be anxiety-inducing. I offer free 20 minute phone consultations to give us both an idea of how we would work together.
Our first session together will be an opportunity for me to understand you and what brings you to therapy. We will set goals for treatment and possible ways to reach those goals.
Every client has unique needs which will determine my proposed treatment plan. Most clients attend weekly while others may attend biweekly or monthly.
